Could we see change in my lifetime?

Speaking to my friend this morning, we begin to discuss these very dynamics that I speak on here on the blog. Our future. She immediately understood and like so many of you and myself, she too have experienced these harsh dynamics in the workplace. And through our discussion, we both agreed that yes change is indeed essential. Critical for the future of young girls. I realize that in that very moment, everything, every job that I’ve ever held was leading me here - to this moment in my life. That I understand clearly, more has to be done. That just saving myself wouldn’t essentially be enough but I want to reconstruct the way and how we do business where we also create opportunities for black women and other women of color. Thinking about the younger girls coming up, its something that truly resonates with me.

I believe we are in the mist of change and opportunity simultaneously. 2024 is lifting the veil of lies and bringing light to truth. I also notice that many of societys systems are ending while a lot of the systems are attmepting to be “repaired”. If im honest, I would have to say that this actually began to occur during the pandemic of 2020. I am going to go as far as to say, that this will continue. Systems are being dismantled and new opportunities and order are on the rise. I also think that the changes that we are currently experiencing globally will be in essence be what students in the future will read about in history books. We aren’t the first and wont be the last generation to have this experience. I think what makes this time different for me, honestly is the awareness of seeing and knowing what’s taken place. A shift in power is inevitable.

In order for change to occur things will get a bit uncomfortable.

And I can double down on that, that’s for sure. This year alone, has been life-changing and transformative - like no other. I find this year to be one of preparation for something big. Like a light of awareness being shed at every step. I don’t and will never see the world as I once had ever again. This is a good thing. I find that the way that the world is going, that its going to be about centering community.
